Does Your Brand Truly Convey What You Want to Convey?

What story does your brand experience TELL?
I don't mean what it says in the marketing materials, website, or what you say the event is about.

I mean, what does it tell, beyond words? What does it convey?
How does make people FEEL? What story does it TELL?

And how does that elevate brand subconscious associations?

As you know, we perceive reality through the senses (obviously NOT 5), and those are what our subconscious interprets as feelings.
So, what sensations and feelings is the experience conveying, through the senses?

What does the haptic experience feel like? What does it taste, smell, and sound like? What do the proprioception and atmosphere feel like?
And how is color enhancing all that?

It is well known that colors affect those sensations (through a synesthetic phenomenon, because all our senses are interconnected!), reinforcing them or disrupting them, so they have a huge impact on the sensations and feelings brands and events convey.

This means that, through colors, brands are making people feel sensations that allow them to experience different feelings (hence emotions, as internal responses to those feelings!) when they're around the brand, reinforcing or weakening their message and subconscious associations with it, at a subconscious level.🧠

No matter if the brand is consciously doing this or not, they are conveying subconscious inputs anyway. Usually, if there's no strategic process behind this, the inputs aren't consitent, making the message less congruent.

This is why often, what brands say and what they tell, aren't aligned... Causing incongruency in their message. Which leads to their audience not having a "this feels right" type of feeling.

Experiences tend to miss the potential for brands to reinforce their presence in people's minds and hearts, because the "sensory" experience is approached without considering the impact on the subconscious (and emotional) mind, as they strive to stay within the brand guidelines, instead of using those guidelines as principles to expand the brand sensory expression, and utilize colors strategically to enhance the memorability of the experience.

So if you want to elevate your events, consider the subtle sensorial and colors experience to make them truly immersive!
There's no need to go bigger, bolder, noisier, or more expensive!

So, what story does your experience tell?

P.s. I'm writing a book on how to strategically use color synesthesia in order to enhance brand expression, making it more immersive and memorable through this subconscious language of sensory stimuli.
